Will Simple IFTA file my return?

Simple IFTA performs a calculation based on your mileage and fuel data provided by you. At the end, you can take the report prints and send it to your base jurisdiction.

Does IFTA calculated state wise, will it support if I travel outside US?

Yes, IFTA tax rates differ from each state and each state have their unique requirements. Our powerful software tool supports all state requirements and we cover states in the US as well as Canadian provinces and Mexico.


What is IFTA?

IFTA is Fuel Tax Agreement. Through the IFTA, member jurisdictions act cooperatively to administer and collect motor fuel use taxes.

Who needs to file IFTA return?

You need an IFTA license if you travel in two or more member jurisdictions and if your vehicle either weighs more than 26,000 pounds, OR has three or more axles, regardless of weight.

Which jurisdictions are members of IFTA?

The 48 contiguous states of the United States and the 10 Canadian Provinces are the members of IFTA.

Should I apply for an IFTA license?

If you operate a qualified motor vehicle which is used between two or more member jurisdiction, then yes. If you operate your qualified vehicle in only one member jurisdiction and make occasional trips outside the base jurisdiction, you may purchase trip permits, which are available from major truck stop.

Where Should I apply for IFTA License?

You should contact your base jurisdiction. Your base jurisdiction is where the vehicle is linked and your qualified motor vehicles registered and they maintain your operational records.

How can I apply for an IFTA license and decals?

Find the IFTA application and instructions from your base jurisdiction transportation website.

Do I file quarterly fuel tax report if I didn’t run during the quarter?

Yes, you must submit a ‘zero’ report even if no taxable fuel was used.

What is the penalty and interest rate for filing a late quarterly fuel tax report?

A penalty of $50.00 or 10% of the net tax liability, whichever is greater, will be assessed on late-filed reports, failure to file, or for underpayment of tax due. If the tax liability is zero or a credit, the late filing penalty will still be $50.00. The penalty for Late filing is $50 plus 10% of taxes due only for the state Nevada.

What are Surcharges?

Surcharges are additional charges which are instructed by certain states. Surcharges applicable to only three states IN, KY, VA.

What are all IFTA miles?

The miles which the truck is in operation for business purpose comes under IFTA miles

What are Non-IFTA miles?

The miles which are non – taxable. Any miles driven in a state that does not participate in IFTA are non IFTA miles.
